Thanks to those who joined our webinar this Tuesday on Monitoring and Sustaining System Change! This webinar, which accompanies the final module in our four-part Toolkit for Status Offense System Reform, highlighted local efforts for monitoring and sustaining status offense reform in Connecticut, Calcasieu Parish in Louisiana, and Kentucky.

Julie Revaz from the Connecticut Judicial Branch discussed how her state monitors the performance of its status offense system. Dane Bolin and Jeff Vander from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury talked about the experience of their parish as they conducted both a process and outcome evaluation to assess status offense reform. Bolin also brought up the success of the Multi-Agency Resource Center which diverts youth charged with status offenses from the court and provides them access to the services they might need. Finally, Tara Grieshop-Goodwin from Kentucky Youth Advocates shared insights on how to engage legislators to make sure that local reform efforts can be expanded and made sustainable.

If you weren’t able to join us, or would like to take a closer look at what was discussed, take a look at our powerpoint presentation here. We hope that these resources help you as you plan to successfully implement and sustain status offense reforms in your own jurisdictions. Please send us any follow-up questions for our presenters or feedback to the Status Offense Reform Center through our contact form.
